The Apostolic Johannite Church 07/10/2010

We continue with our ongoing series on the rise of Gnostic Churches. The Apostolic Johannite Church (AJC) is one of the fastest-growing, ecumenical and progressive of the various Gnostic denominations. The AJC is a direct outgrowth of the 19th Century French revival of Gnosticism.  Yet its spiritual roots go back to the Johannine legacies of John the Baptist and the John the Evangelist--two essential bookends to the kernel, universal message of The Logos and Sophia. We get intimately acquainted with the AJC's history, theology, rituals and sacraments. We also delve into the newly published, English translation of The Levitikon, an esoteric rendition of the Gospel of John that offers a deep insight into Gnosis transmitted throughout history.

Astral Guest-- William Behun, Bishop, author of The Historical Pivot: Philosophy of History in Hegel, Schelling, and Hölderlin, and Lecturer of Philosophy at St. Xavier University.
