An essential part of the message of Jesus was not his actual message but how he came to discover his message (whether one agrees with it or not). That is the gift of prophecy inherent to every human being. Prophecy is not foretelling the Divine's plan for the future but experiencing the Divine beyond the future. Prophecy awakens The Divine Spark and finds the means to transform the mind and the world around a person. By a process of inner exploration, mindful contemplation and continual interpretation and re-interpretation of Holy Scripture and Myth, any individual can unleash his or hers power of prophecy. This is not only a teaching of Jesus but also Lao-Tzu, Buddha, Gandhi and other giants. We also delve into the Aramaic mindset of early Christianity, discovering that such concepts as the soul, sin, forgiveness and The Kingdom of God are far more esoteric and mystical than previously believed. Lastly, we dare a penetrating look at the state of modern Christianity and see if it can find needed renewal by tapping into the overlooked teachings of Jesus; as well as address the controversial concepts of The Prosperity Gospel and The Social Gospel.
